About The Position

Amedisys is hiring a PRN hospice registered nurse for days in Cambria County. The nurse provides hospice care to patients at home, performs initial nursing assessments, coordinates individualized plans of care, communicates progress with the clinical manager, physician, and care team, and supports patients and families through education and symptom management. The role also includes assigned on-call responsibilities and services. The stated hourly rate range is $40.00–$42.00. Benefit eligibility may vary by position and shift status, and participation in certain benefits requires enrollment in an Amedisys medical plan.

Requirements

• Current RN license specific to the state(s) where assigned to work.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

• One year of nursing experience is preferred. Candidates with less than one year of nursing experience may be considered for the RN new graduate program.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial nursing assessments for new admissions.
• Complete, coordinate, and revise the total plan of care and maintain continuity of patient care in collaboration with appropriate staff.
• Regularly communicate patient progress to the clinical manager, physician, and care team.
• Develop, prepare, and maintain individualized patient care progress records accurately, promptly, and according to care center policies.
• Record pain and symptom management changes and outcomes as appropriate.
• Educate families about the patient's condition, needs, and care.
• Refer patients to other hospice care disciplines as needed, or document the rationale for not doing so.
• Perform assigned on-call responsibilities and provide on-call services to patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
