About The Position

A Registered Nurse (RN) with primary responsibilities of providing quality nursing care to the patient. Interpersonal skills necessary to respectfully interact with patients and family members, frequently during periods of emotional stress or anxiety, hospital personnel and physicians. The ideal candidate is a self-directed professional with the ability to make independent judgment to direct patient care.

Requirements

Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan.
At least two (2) years of med-surg experience required.
Meets Hospice and Medicare standards as evidenced by criminal background check and fingerprinting.
Possess a current Michigan motor vehicle license, ability to drive a car, and an insured vehicle capable of transport to facility in various weather conditions.
Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
For those hired into an RN position prior to January 1, 2009, it is encouraged to obtain a BSN.
Certification in the specialty area of practice is also encouraged.
For those hired into an RN position after January 1, 2009, it is required to obtain a BSN within ten years of their start date as an RN.
Certification in the specialty area of practice is strongly encouraged.
For those hired into an RN position after January 1st, 2015, it is required to obtain a BSN within 5 years of start date.
Three (3) years’ experience in nursing and prior skilled care or hospice experience preferred.
