The Hospice RN provides compassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patients in a clinical setting, supporting the Mercyhealth nursing mission, practice values and strategic plan. This role involves utilizing the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members. The nurse will perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and ensure all documentation is accurate and comprehensive. A key aspect of this role is developing, initiating, and executing a patient plan of care according to individualized needs and utilizing available resources to teach and support patient and family education. The RN will also participate in performance improvement activities, resolve systems breakdowns, manage complex situations, and delegate appropriately. Additionally, the role involves positively influencing professional and organizational environments, engaging in personal development, and supporting continuous learning and growth. Clinic and Ambulatory RNs will maintain timely patient flow, respond to telephone calls, and perform telephone triage.
