About The Position

This role involves providing direct patient care and education to individuals to promote and maintain their health. The nurse will utilize the nursing process and critical thinking to manage infusion nursing care as ordered by a physician, collaborating with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Key responsibilities include timely documentation, participating in interdisciplinary collaboration, maintaining competencies, ensuring data privacy and confidentiality, fostering a culturally sensitive environment, and working independently with strong work ethics. The position requires travel to assigned territories, flexibility to meet patient needs, availability for on-call responsibilities, and maintaining a professional appearance. A thorough understanding of confidentiality, HIPAA guidelines, and protection of PHI/EPHI is essential.

Requirements

  • Current, active and in good standing registered nurse license in the state of employment.
  • Experience administering infusion therapy in a home, hospital or clinical setting.
  • Must have current CPR certification
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License
  • May be required to operate a motor vehicle in adverse weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric, ER, and/or medical surgical experience, a plus.
  • 3-5 years experience in homecare is preferred
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Uses the nursing process to care for and/or educate individuals in the promotion and maintenance of health.
  • Uses systematic critical-thinking to guide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment.
  • Responsible for coordinating and managing aspects of infusion nursing care as ordered by the physician.
  • Delivers care in collaboration with the patient, their family and all members of the health care team.
  • Submits required documentation of care within required time frame including initial assessments, visit encounters, patient education.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary collaboration and communicates urgent clinical findings in a timely manner.
  • Maintains annual competencies
  • Maintains privacy, security and confidentiality of patient, staff and organizational data
  • Fosters a non-discriminatory work environment in which care and services are delivered in a sociocultural sensitive manner.
  • Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision, while demonstrating strong work ethics to meet goals and provide stellar customer service to patients.
  • Travel to assigned territory as needed with willing flexibility to meet patient needs.
  • Availability for assisting with On-Call responsibilities, as needed. ("Taking Call/Being On-Call")
  • Display neat, clean, professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Complete understanding of confidentiality with respect to Company proprietary information as well as information concerning patient/client care; complying with all federal and state laws as apply to confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI); and following HIPAA guidelines regarding readily identifiable protected health information
