About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) with Homecare is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of Hospice/Home Health adult and pediatric patients and their families in their home setting. The RN provides the best clinical practice in an environment of caring and healing while working autonomously in the home. Utilizing the nursing process, the RN delivers care in compliance with hospice/home health policies and procedures, legal and regulatory standards. The RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members. Requirements

  • Current RN License in state of practice.
  • Current BLS Certification for healthcare providers.
  • Current drivers license, insured and reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to transfer patients independently
  • Ability to commute to the office at least twice daily to electronically transfer patient files or have other access to the Internet for electronically transferring patient files twice a day.
  • RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN prior to joining Intermountain must obtain their BSN within five years of their start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Two years working as an RN.
  • Previous experience in an Acute Care, Home Health, or Hospice setting.

  • Delivering care in compliance with hospice/home health policies and procedures, legal and regulatory standards.
  • Utilizing the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members.
  • Managing patient care while receiving support from a collaborative healthcare team.
  • Delivering compassionate care to patients in their own homes.
  • Enhancing career by learning unique skills such as wound care, injection and medication administration, IV monitoring, and patient/caregiver education.
