About The Position

AdvisaCare is seeking FULL TIME Skilled Registered Nurses (RN) to provide care and service patients in the Greater Portage (Kalamazoo County) and surrounding areas. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide one-on-one patient care, focusing on real conversations and connections, a stark contrast to the high-paced environment of facilities. The position involves home care visits and shift work, allowing nurses to make a real difference in the health and safety of patients. Responsibilities include wound care (Wound Vacs, Drains, Tubes, Ostomies, Traches, Catheters, Infusions, LVADs), patient education, and coordination with the Home Health Team, employing a holistic and patient-driven approach. Training will be provided for advanced skills as needed.

Requirements

  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Minimum one (1) year of Home Health nursing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills to provide care to and communicate with all ages of the population.
  • Updated Tuberculin (TB) test.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Clear Criminal History/Drug Screen.
  • Compassionate and caring demeanor, with a professional presentation at all times.
  • Ability to travel within service area of AdvisaCare (approximately a 30 mile radius from your home).
  • Critical thinking, task competence and the ability to think on your feet is needed.

Nice To Haves

  • OASIS Experienced Registered Nurse preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one patient care in a home health setting.
  • Conduct home care visits and perform shift work.
  • Perform wound care, including Wound Vacs, Drains, Tubes, All Ostomies, Traches, Catheters, Infusions, and LVADs.
  • Provide patient and caregiver education.
  • Coordinate with members of the Home Health Team.
  • Travel within the service area of AdvisaCare (approximately a 30-mile radius from home).
