This specific role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Hematology, Oncology Infusion Center, operating on a seasonal basis from September 2026 through February 2027. The RN is accountable for coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care, supporting professional nursing practice across various settings and the continuum of care. The role operates within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, requiring accountability for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care. The ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice serve as a basis for practice. The RN provides leadership through preceptor roles, informal and formal leadership, and quality improvement efforts. Delegation of patient care is based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability. Excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching skills are essential, with potential participation in committees or projects.
