About The Position

Under the supervision of the Ambulatory Patient Care Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Hematology, Blood & Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Clinic is responsible for providing direct and indirect clinical care to adult outpatients who have a variety of hematologic, immunologic, and oncologic conditions. Care is provided through the systematic application of the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. All components of this process are individualized to meet the physiological, psychosocial and developmental needs of the patients. The nurse performs ongoing assessments and modifies the care planning process as needed, to ensure continuity of care between inpatient, outpatient, homecare, home, and multiple providers. The RN is actively involved in patient, staff and provider education. The nurse participates in clinical research activities within the program and incorporates research findings into planning and implementation of care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Ability to provide direct and indirect clinical care to adult outpatients.
  • Proficiency in the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
  • Skill in individualizing care to meet physiological, psychosocial, and developmental needs.
  • Experience in performing ongoing assessments and modifying care plans.
  • Ability to ensure continuity of care between various healthcare settings and providers.
  • Experience in patient, staff, and provider education.
  • Involvement in clinical research activities.
  • Ability to incorporate research findings into patient care.
