This is a part-time opportunity for a Registered Nurse to use their skills and experience to educate caregivers on the physical health needs of their patients who live in the community and have a mental health diagnosis. The goal is to teach caregivers how to provide a better quality of life for these patients. The role offers autonomy in nursing practice with less physical demand than a hospital or skilled nursing facility setting. The nurse will work in various community settings such as AFCs, private homes, ABA centers, day programs, and camps, as well as in the office outpatient clinic for injections and psychiatric clinic assistance. The position involves providing nursing services to adults and children with multiple physical health conditions, mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or developmental disabilities, adhering to professional nursing standards and codes. The role emphasizes culturally competent recovery-based practices, person-centered planning, and a trauma-informed culture of safety.
