About The Position

The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET, and Texas 10-Step facility, and Maternal Level IV designated facility is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse for their GYN/Antepartum department. This unit is a 27-bed unit combining GYN, High Risk Antepartum, Breast surgery and Postpartum patients. The role involves providing care to GYN, post-surgical patients (including hysterectomies and breast surgeries), Postpartum (NICU moms), and Antepartum patients of all gestation levels. The department offers self-scheduling, opportunities for educational and career growth, a robust Unit Based Council (UBC), and engaged leadership.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program Or Nursing Diploma required
CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
One-year experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program.
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required

Nice To Haves

BSN is preferred
One year or more of GYN, Antepartum, Women’s Services RN experience strongly preferred
Fetal monitoring (EFM) knowledge and experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
