About The Position

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Graduate Nurse in an Acute Care Unit, working full-time, 36 hours per week, on a 12-hour night shift (7am-7pm). The role reports to the Director and requires providing bedside care to a diverse and acutely ill patient population. The RN will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, and evaluate patient care for various health conditions. The unit is a 51-bed unit caring for high-acuity patients across complex specialties. A $13,000 New Hire Retention Bonus is offered to external applicants who meet minimum requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred).
  • If BSN or MSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain one within a specific time frame.
  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).
  • Superb interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities.
  • Competency in electronic patient management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or MSN preferred.
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting highly preferred.
  • Will take a graduate nurse and train.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care.
  • Communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of the patient.
  • Maintain accurate and timely healthcare records.
  • Administer medications to patients, provide education, and monitor for efficacy and side effects.
  • Assess, monitor, report, and record patient condition and pertinent changes.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate patient nursing care plans with the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and family throughout their stay and in preparation for discharge.
