About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the GI Lab is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves responding to patients' basic human needs, including safety, physical, psychological, and social needs, while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and interpersonal skills. The RN will engage family and caregivers in health care situations and utilize professional behaviors to help patients and families understand and confront their health and illness through mutual problem-solving. The position contributes to creating a healing environment that ensures privacy, safety, confidentiality, and tranquility. Texas Health Plano is a 386-bed, full-service hospital serving North Texas, specializing in various medical services including emergency medicine, trauma, cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, women's services, behavioral health, and advanced surgical services. It is a Level II Trauma Facility, a Level IV NICU and Maternal facility, and has a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program. The hospital is a four-time Magnet-designated facility with a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program and an AACN Beacon Gold adult intensive care unit.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma required or Associate’s Degree of Nursing required
  • 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse required
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
  • Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree of Nursing preferred
  • 6-month direct Endo/GI Lab experience as an RN strongly preferred
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required
  • PALS – Pediatric Life Support within 90 days required
