About The Position

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking a Registered Nurse for the General Intensive Care Unit (GICU). This position offers up to a $20,000 Sign-On Bonus for qualified applicants. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, which includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Professional performance standards encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess the clinical knowledge and skills required for specific clinical areas. This is a Beacon Award-winning 16-bed General Intensive Care Unit that commonly treats patients with myocardial infarctions, life-threatening dysrhythmias, post-cardiac procedures, gastrointestinal bleeds, acute respiratory distress, vascular surgeries, and complicated general surgeries.

Requirements

  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum of 1 year emergency, intermediate care, intensive care or med/surg nursing

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
