About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides safe, competent, and evidence-based nursing care within a client- and family-centered model. Working both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, the RN conducts assessments, develops and implements care plans, provides health education, and supports clients across diverse social, economic, cultural, and age groups. The RN practices in accordance with the standards of the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS), the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics, and the mission, philosophy, and objectives of the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Nursing
  • Basic Life Support Health Care Provider Certificate (BLS-HCP)
  • Decision making skills

  • Effective interpersonal relationship skills
  • Working knowledge in health promotion
  • Demonstrated clinical competency
  • Sensitive and understanding of diverse cultural aspects of population served
  • Knowledge in population and public health concepts
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
  • Knowledge in Infection Prevention and Control standards
  • Knowledge of CRNS standards for nursing practice
  • Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues
  • Knowledge in critical thinking processes
  • Knowledge in LEAN management system
  • Ability to coach, mentor and develop others
  • Competent critical thinking/judgement/autonomous decision making capabilities
  • Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Practices with Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics
  • Supports the mission/philosophy/objectives of the Saskatchewan Health Authority
  • Valid driver's license, where required
  • High level of accuracy is required in handling specialized equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Nursing experience in Chronic Disease Management is desired.
