About The Position
The RN will serve the medical surveillance unit (MSU), which is a closed observation unit for patients not requiring ICU, but are more acute than a general medicine patient. The MSU provides an increased level of skilled nursing care to those patients requiring frequent monitoring, observation, physiological monitoring, support, and treatment. These skills will include cardiac monitoring and the application of telemetry.
Requirements
- One (1) year experience in acute care
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
- Basic - Critical thinking skills
- Knowledge in nursing process
- Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Responsibilities
- Provide increased level of skilled nursing care to patients requiring frequent monitoring, observation, physiological monitoring, support, and treatment.
- Perform cardiac monitoring and apply telemetry.
