Registered Nurse Float (Women's Health, Urgent Care, Pedi, Adult Medicine)

Closed when traveling conductions are deemed too dangerous for staff & patients means less child care hassles when school is cancelled.
Requirements
- Current MA RN license or completion of a formal education program in practical nursing
- Current state licensure/BLS Certified (with AED). Responsible for keeping certification current.
- 1-3 years experience performed in a physician's office or community health setting
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual Preferred, Not Required
- Minimum one year MED/SURG experience desirable
- Bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese skills preferred
- IV experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Administer immunizations/treatments
- Perform diagnostic tests: EKG’s, Holter Monitors, hearing/vision tests and CLIA waived testing
- Order/stock immunizations; confirm expiration dates on a consistent basis, and dispose of expired stock
- Document in the electronic health record, prepare test results, and document in patient encounter forms
- Prioritize patient phone calls and determine the need for immediate medical care
- Assist with procedures
- Process refills
- Contribute to the orientation of new nurses
- Provide direction for medical assistants
- Assist providers with developing short and long-term goals
- Involve the patient and family in care plans
- Evaluate data in making interpretations
- Differentiate nursing situations that require priority
- Recognize learning needs of patients
- Coordinate teaching plans
- Provide individual/group education
- Assist in initiating referrals and utilizing available resources within and outside the facility
- Defend and preserve the rights of patients
