About The Position

Closed when traveling conductions are deemed too dangerous for staff & patients means less child care hassles when school is cancelled.

Requirements

  • Current MA RN license or completion of a formal education program in practical nursing
  • Current state licensure/BLS Certified (with AED). Responsible for keeping certification current.
  • 1-3 years experience performed in a physician's office or community health setting

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Preferred, Not Required
  • Minimum one year MED/SURG experience desirable
  • Bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese skills preferred
  • IV experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer immunizations/treatments
  • Perform diagnostic tests: EKG’s, Holter Monitors, hearing/vision tests and CLIA waived testing
  • Order/stock immunizations; confirm expiration dates on a consistent basis, and dispose of expired stock
  • Document in the electronic health record, prepare test results, and document in patient encounter forms
  • Prioritize patient phone calls and determine the need for immediate medical care
  • Assist with procedures
  • Process refills
  • Contribute to the orientation of new nurses
  • Provide direction for medical assistants
  • Assist providers with developing short and long-term goals
  • Involve the patient and family in care plans
  • Evaluate data in making interpretations
  • Differentiate nursing situations that require priority
  • Recognize learning needs of patients
  • Coordinate teaching plans
  • Provide individual/group education
  • Assist in initiating referrals and utilizing available resources within and outside the facility
  • Defend and preserve the rights of patients
