About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool. This is a Full Time position with night shifts, scheduled from 6p-6a, including rotating weekends. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is available for eligible candidates. Centerpoint Health – Paris, formerly Bourbon Community Hospital, is a 58-bed acute care facility. The medical staff includes 140 physicians covering 22 specialties. The facility also offers Behavioral Health services with a 33-bed inpatient facility, utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach with psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, therapists, nurses, social workers, mental health technicians, recreation therapists, and Kentucky certified teachers. Certified therapy dogs are also utilized in the healing process within the Behavioral Health department. Our Float RNs are adaptable professionals with diverse expertise, expected to float to almost all areas of the hospital and adjust quickly to changing needs.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing, required
  • KY RN state licensure or compact licensure, required
  • 2 years minimum bedside RN experience required
  • BCLS required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, preferred
  • ACLS and PALS preferred
  • Handle with Care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides after-hours leadership, functions as a resource person for staff, assists in patient care, and is responsible for overall quality of patient care in the facility.
  • Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and related medical care.
  • Documents care provided in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Assists with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
  • Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building to support departments and staff.
  • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, psychosocial/spiritual support).
  • Assesses learning needs; provides age- and culture-appropriate patient/family education.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Participates in performance improvement and required education; works other shifts/units as needed and may take on-call assignments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
