This is a full-time Registered Nurse Float Pool position at Advocate South Suburban Hospital, working 7a-7p with alternating weekends. The role involves engaging in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, mobilizing resources, collaborating with the care team, and upholding a culture of safety. The position requires continuous evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, safe administration of medications and treatments, effective communication, and pursuit of professional development. Adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics and appropriate delegation are also key aspects of the role. Accurate and timely EHR documentation is required. This role may require floating to other units, departments, care areas, or facilities within the designated service area to meet patient care needs. The nurse must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, including understanding of growth and development over the life span and the ability to assess and interpret data related to age-specific needs.
