About The Position

We are hiring a Registered Nurse Float Dialysis to work in Austin, TX and surrounding areas. This full-time position will be based in the Dialysis department across various Ascension facilities including Ascension Seton Hays, Ascension Seton Med Center Austin, Seton Northwest, Dell Seton Med Center, Ascension Seton Williamson, and Ascension Seton Cedar Park. The role involves performing high-acuity renal replacement therapies and providing exceptional clinical flexibility by integrating into diverse nursing units.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-acuity renal replacement therapies, including Hemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), across various clinical settings
  • Demonstrate exceptional clinical flexibility by seamlessly integrating into diverse nursing units across the hospital organization, adhering to site-specific protocols while maintaining universal standards of care for end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and acute kidney injury (AKI) patients.
  • Expertly manage and monitor various types of vascular access—including tunneled catheters, AV fistulas, and grafts—ensuring strict aseptic technique and troubleshooting mechanical issues to maintain optimal blood flow during treatment.
  • Provide 1-on-1 bedside care during treatments, continuously assessing hemodynamic stability and fluid balance; independently titrate ultrafiltration rates and administer medications based on real-time physiological response and nephrologist orders.
