Registered Nurse - All Unity Service Areas The Registered Nurse - Float B is responsible for rotating duties covering Admissions, Hospital, or Community, depending on staffing needs. The nurse works collaboratively with the primary care teams, interdisciplinary team, and schedule coordinators to achieve high-quality patient standards. Schedule: Monthly schedule working 3–4 days per week between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm (Admissions, Hospital, or Community). Weekend rotation is currently every 8th weekend but may vary, with a minimum requirement of every 3rd weekend. Includes approximately 10–15 backup on-call shifts per year and 1–2 holidays annually. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook) Highly motivated and organized with a strong attention to detail and analytical skills to help solve problems. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment. Ability to keep up to date with policies, practices, and regulations. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and capable of dealing with deadline pressures. Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Unity. Satisfy mandatory training requirements regarding local, state, and federal regulations and/or Unity’s policies and procedures. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Ability to adjust to frequently changing demands. Key Job Duties: Provide skilled nursing assessment and appropriate intervention Update the plan of care as necessary and review care plans with patient and family Respond to urgent patient/family needs in collaboration with triage nursing staff Initiate crisis care as needed Report appropriate findings and significant changes to the primary team, attending physician and primary caregiver Provide education to patient/family members on disease progression, symptom management, medication and other associated patient care needs Administer and titrate medication according to physician/nurse practitioner orders Mange individual patient medication and Residence contingency medications Record all received orders to the Electronic Medical Record and initiate follow up as needed Prioritize daily work and make adjustments taking into account the needs of patients, Unity and other staff Communicate with interdisciplinary team members Delegate nursing duties to LPN and supervise care provided by CNA Complete new patient admissions as needed Telephone triage and follow-up to patient care related contacts Record and maintain complete and accurate records of patient and physician communications Fax/call new and refill prescriptions according to physician orders Coordinate volunteer deliveries Why Unity? RN license in the state of practice required (RN must practice under the law and regulations governing nursing in the state of practice). Valid WI Drivers’ License, reliable transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance coverage.
