About The Position

The Registered Nurse First Assistant is a clinician and a role model. You serve as the primary clinician with specific patients in combination with the surgical/medical plan. You are responsible for beginning, implementing, and evaluating a nursing plan of care. In this role, you will assess a patient’s status to anticipate and respond to clinical changes as well as recognize and take appropriate action in critical situations.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed a course in preparing the registered nurse as a first assistant in surgery.
  • Must be able to differentiate colors.
  • Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.
  • 2 years of intraoperative clinical experience.
  • Current RN licensure in the state in which you are hired.
  • CPR certified.
  • Current specialty certification (CNOR) issued by the Certification Board Perioperative Nursing (CBPN).

  • Bachelors degree in nursing
