About The Position
The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) provides direct perioperative patient care and serves as the first assistant to the surgeon in the Operating Room and Labor & Delivery Suite. The position requires advanced perioperative nursing knowledge, clinical skills, and judgment gained through formal education and supervised practice.
Requirements
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification.
- Current California RN license.
- Current CPR certification.
- Current ACLS certification/recognition.
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons as the first assistant during surgical procedures.
- Provide direct patient care within the expanded perioperative nursing role.
- Work under the supervision of the surgeon in the OR and Labor & Delivery Suite.
- Apply advanced perioperative nursing knowledge and skills to support safe patient care.
