About The Position

The Level 1 Trauma Pediatric Emergency Department at Inova Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced RN to join their team who is looking to transition into the Emergency Department. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on & relocation bonuses. This role will be full-time, night shift 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (three 12-hour shifts per week). Weekend, holiday, and call rotations are required. During orientation, the nurse will rotate through all shifts (Days, Mids, and Nights). This position is ideal for Experienced Nurses looking to change specialties. The nurse is required to go through & complete a 12-16 week Emergency Fellowship upon start. Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
• BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years from date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
• For Pediatric units, Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

• 2 years plus of Acute or Critical RN experience (PICU, outpatient/inpatient peds, Emergency Medicine, etc.).
• Any ED exp – adult or peds.
• Proficient in English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
• Proficient computer skills required.
