Registered Nurse (RN) Fellow Behavioral Health Nights
About The Position
Inova Mt. Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse Fellow to join their Behavioral Health team. This is a full-time night shift position (7:00 pm – 7:00 am) with a rotating weekend schedule. The role offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for qualified external applicants. The demand for behavioral health services is growing, leading to an expansion of the unit from 30 to 50 beds in mid-2023. The new 20-bed unit and the modernized existing unit are designed to meet the specific needs of this specialized population. The Inova Mt. Vernon Hospital behavioral health team was recognized with the 2021 Guardian of Excellence Award for Patient Experience from Press Ganey, indicating high performance in patient experience compared to national healthcare facilities. Inova Mt. Vernon Hospital is a 237-bed hospital providing convenient, state-of-the-art care in a community setting, situated on 26 acres with serene gardens. The hospital is home to several nationally recognized centers, including the Inova Joint Replacement Center, Inova Rehabilitation Center, Inova Wound Healing Center, and a recently renovated Veatch Family Emergency Department. Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
- Education: BSN or ADN - If ADN then complete BSN within 5 years of start date
- BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required
- RN licensed, and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others.
- Proficient computer skills required.
Nice To Haves
- Previous acute care experience (med/surg, PCU, ICU) strongly preferred

- Use a focused and integrated approach toward improving desired patient outcomes and patient experience of care delivery.
- Participate in learning new knowledge, developing new skills and meeting program objectives to be able to practice in assigned patient care delivery settings while utilizing and applying new knowledge.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn under the direct supervision of an experienced RN and through various other training formats.
