This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Family Birthing Services department, working on a 14-bed LDRP unit. The role involves providing family-centered maternity and newborn care, with approximately 1,800 births annually. The unit is supported by a Level II NICU and Lactation Consultants. Opportunities for professional growth are available through a Clinical Ladder Program and an RN Fellowship Program for nurses new to OB or graduate nurses. This is a part-time position requiring 48 hours biweekly, with a 7-7 (12-hour day/night) shift rotation, and every third weekend work. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for implementing, directing, and coordinating patient care through the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This includes recognizing and treating the physical and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the specific unit.
