About The Position

Firelands Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for their Emergency Room (ER) department. This is a PRN position, meaning it is on-call as needed. The role involves implementing the nursing process, carrying out physician orders, performing patient assessments, monitoring care, documenting interventions, and instructing patients and families. The RN will also respond to emergencies, manage medications and supplies, and ensure a clean environment. The position emphasizes service excellence and acting as an advocate for Firelands Regional Medical Center (FRMC). The ER offers a favorable nurse-to-patient ratio (1:3 day shift, 1:4 night shift) and supports work-life balance with a minimum of 24 hours per month, including a weekend shift. Requirements

  • Current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
  • Current PALS, ACLS, Basic EKG, and TNCC required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
  • Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
  • Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
  • Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
  • Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
  • Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
