About The Position
The Registered Nurse - Endoscopy position is a PRN role working days from 6 AM to 2 PM, with potential for extended shifts and on-call duties. This role is located at UAB St. Vincent's East. The nurse will provide direct patient care, implement and monitor patient care plans, record and communicate patient conditions, coordinate care among disciplines, execute physician and nursing orders, and assess discharge planning needs.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
