RN - Registered Nurse - Endoscopy Supervisor - Full Time Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse - Endoscopy Supervisor will supervise and coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the UAB St. Vincent's East Endoscopy department. This role involves assigning, directing, educating, and monitoring nursing and support staff, assessing daily patient care needs, developing patient care assignments, and evaluating the effectiveness of patient care. The supervisor will also respond to complaints about patient care and may provide input for hiring, training, and staff development.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.
- Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
- Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
- Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distributes patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identifies any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
- Respond to complaints about patient care and manages through established channels.
- May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.
