Registered Nurse- Endo
About The Position
Deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established philosophy. Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Effectively interact with patients, families, & visitors while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Provides physical and psychological support to patients. This is a Safety Sensitive position. The department is very fluid and follows patient volume, requiring flexibility in start/end times and potentially resulting in a 32-40 hour work week. The role is fast-paced with multiple areas to learn and work, offering opportunities for success and enjoyment in caring for patients, surgeons, and colleagues.
Requirements
- Graduate of a school of nursing.
- Current LPN or RN license by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Current TB test.
- Pass WRMC Medication/Dosage Calculations Exam.
- Pass WRMC IV Therapy Exam.
- Flexibility with work schedule due to patient volume and departmental needs.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a circulating nurse for endoscopy procedures.
- Experience as an endoscopy tech.
- Experience in pre-op and post-op care.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment with multiple learning areas.
Responsibilities
- Deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established philosophy.
- Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
- Effectively interact with patients, families, & visitors while maintaining the standard of professional nursing.
- Provide physical and psychological support to patients.
- Orientate as a circulating nurse for endoscopy procedures (EGD, COLONOSCOPY, BRONCHOSCOPY, ROBOTIC BRONCHOSCOPY) in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Orientate as an endoscopy tech, assisting the team during procedures, equipment care, and endoscope reprocessing.
- Orientate as a pre-op and post-op nurse, performing pre-op assessments with VS, medication reconciliation, and IV starts, and post-op assessments with phase 1 and phase 2 care.
- Adhere to White River Health System's Standard of Behaviors.
- Maintain annual unit specific competencies and education fair.
