About The Position

The Registered Nurse is a professional practitioner who assesses, manages, directs, and provides nursing care activities during the patient's hospital stay and coordinates planning with other disciplines utilizing a patient/customer driven approach. This role performs comprehensive nursing assessment/reassessment, establishes, coordinates and evaluates a plan of care, provides and documents nursing interventions, and documents/communicates nursing care and/or changes in patient condition. The nurse also provides specialized care to patients at high risk for injury, demonstrates accountability for their professional practice, relates to coworkers in a professional and appropriate manner, and performs job in accordance with safety and infection control policies. Additionally, the nurse provides service excellence to customers by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous and respectful manner, and incorporates performance improvement and evidenced based practice into their individual professional practice. The nurse also provides age-appropriate care and cost-effective services.

Requirements

Licensed to work as an RN in the state of Missouri
Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
Registered Nurse (RN) Issued by Compact State
Registered Nurse (RN) - Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN)
Registered Nurse (RN) - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services

Responsibilities

Performs comprehensive nursing assessment/reassessment.
Establishes, coordinates and evaluates a plan of care based on analysis of assessment data, patient diagnosis, lab data, tests, procedures, physician orders, protocols and standards of care and other information as relevant.
Provides and documents nursing interventions based on assessed patient needs, plan of care, and changes in patient status.
Documents and or communicates nursing care and or changes in patient condition.
Provides specialized care to patients at high risk for injury.
Demonstrates accountability for own professional practice.
Ability to relate to coworkers in a professional and appropriate manner.
Safety/Infection Control: Performs job in accordance with safety and infection control policies.
Service: Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous and respectful manner.
Incorporates Performance Improvement and Evidenced Based Practice into individual professional practice.
