About The Position

Ottumwa Regional Health Center provides a wide range of health services, including emergency medicine, critical care services, medical/surgical, acute rehabilitation, obstetrics, and pediatrics, as well as specialty services such as cardiac catheterization, diagnostic and therapeutic radiological services, wound care, pain clinic, sleep lab, pathology, and so much more. The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care for acutely ill patients. The Emergency Department Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process, their skills in clinical judgment, critical thinking, prioritization, and time management to care for patients throughout the life span and with a variety of healthcare needs. The registered nursed also performs assigned procedures that are within the scope of practice as set forth by the Iowa State Board of Nursing.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required.
• Current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Iowa or from a Compact State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within six (6) months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months of hire.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within six (6) months of hire.
• Recent RN experience.

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year of Medical/Surgical or Critical Care nursing experience.
• One (1) year of ER experience.
• One (1) year of Psychiatry experience.

Responsibilities
