About The Position

Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center (SCHHC) has a full-time mid-shift opening for an RN in the Emergency Room Department. The ER RN provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility, and responsibility indicative of professional expectations with a minimum of supervision. Able to triage every patient that enters the emergency care system safely, rapidly, and accurately. This position can perform a Nursing Assessment following department policy and procedure. The ER RN determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. The ER RN communicates with the Emergency Room Provider about changes in the patient’s status, symptoms, and results of diagnostic studies. The ER RN can respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or responses to treatment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Current licensure in Oregon as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Have and maintain Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) / Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) / Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification.
  • TEAM or TNCC certification required.
  • At least one year of Med/Surg nursing experience is required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a drive to provide exceptional service.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and computer proficiency, specifically in Microsoft Office and online software.
  • U.S. citizens or have proper authorization to work in the United States.
  • Acceptable pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • CEN certification desired.
  • At least one year of Emergency nursing experience is desired.
  • EPIC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities
