About The Position

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides rapid, skilled care to patients seeking emergency medical attention. ER nurses deliver emergent and urgent care in the emergency department, assessing patients, prioritizing care, treating a wide range of medical conditions and injuries, and supporting patients and families. The listed schedule is 12-hour day shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale, Georgia. The posting describes the position as full time in the overview and as part time under Employment Status.

Requirements

Current, valid state RN license.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
At least one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting; emergency room experience is preferred.

Nice To Haves

Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Emergency room experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess patients upon arrival, determine the severity of their conditions, and prioritize care using standardized triage protocols.
Provide direct care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions and injuries, including administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain.
Assist with stabilizing patients with severe illness or trauma and initiating life-saving interventions, including ACLS, PALS, and trauma care.
Manage high-stress, rapidly changing situations while remaining calm, focused, and decisive and providing care to multiple patients during busy shifts or mass casualty events.
Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
