About The Position

NurseAmerica is building a talent pool of qualified Emergency Department Registered Nurses (ER/ED RNs) for current and upcoming opportunities with healthcare facilities across Oklahoma. We are seeking skilled and compassionate emergency nurses who can thrive in fast-paced environments, prioritize patient needs effectively, and provide safe, high-quality care to patients with a wide range of conditions and acuity levels.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma or applicable Compact RN license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN, Diploma, or BSN accepted.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of acute-care or emergency nursing experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday schedules as required by the assigned facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with experience in the following areas are encouraged to apply: Emergency Department / Emergency Room, Trauma Nursing, Critical Care / ICU, High-Acuity Emergency Care, Pediatric Emergency Care, Acute-Care Nursing, Emergency Procedures and Moderate Sedation.
  • Additional certifications may be required or preferred depending on the assigned facility, including: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, Moderate Sedation, Other emergency or unit-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to emergency department patients.
  • Perform timely and comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Prioritize patient care based on clinical condition, acuity, and changing patient needs.
  • Monitor patients closely and recognize changes or deterioration in clinical status.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and emergency interventions as ordered.
  • Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals with emergency procedures and treatments.
  • Provide care to patients across various age groups and clinical conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, EMS personnel, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and medical records.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment, medications, follow-up care, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain patient safety, privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
  • Follow infection prevention, emergency preparedness, quality, and safety standards.
  • Maintain clinical competencies and participate in continuing education and quality improvement activities.
  • Perform additional emergency nursing duties as assigned.
