About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse – Emergency Room for an exciting Travel or Local job in Maryville, TN. This role involves assessing, triaging, and prioritizing patients with acute illnesses and injuries, delivering safe and effective nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department, and monitoring patient conditions. The nurse will administer medications and treatments, perform emergency interventions, and operate medication administration systems like Omnicell. Accurate patient documentation in EPIC is required. Collaboration with healthcare teams, patient and family education, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies are key responsibilities. The role also includes participation in quality improvement initiatives and potential floating to other units.

Requirements

  • Active Tennessee Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Minimum 1 Year of Recent Emergency Room (ER) Experience.
  • Minimum 1 Year of EPIC Documentation Experience.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a high-volume Emergency Department setting.
  • Strong adaptability and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, triage, and prioritize patients presenting with acute illnesses and injuries.
  • Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous therapies according to physician orders and facility protocols.
  • Perform emergency interventions and assist during trauma, cardiac, and critical care situations.
  • Operate and document medication administration using Omnicell.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in EPIC.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and healthcare teams.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and infection control procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Float to other units as needed based on patient care requirements.
