About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department. The role involves caring for inpatient boarders and adapting to rapidly changing conditions in a 29-bed facility, which serves as a chest pain and primary stroke center with daily volumes of around 120 patients.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 1-year experience working in the ED within the last 12 months.
- KS or Multi State RN License, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS & Conscious Sedation Competency.
- Comfortable handling inpatient boarders and maintaining a positive attitude.
Nice To Haves
- Certification Preferred: TNCC.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Emergency Room.
- Manage care for inpatient boarders and handle rapidly changing patient conditions.
- Adhere to facility protocols and maintain positive nurse-patient ratios (3:1 or 4:1 if needed).
- Work up to 3 weekend nights (Fri/Sat/Sun) per pay period as required.
