About The Position
We are seeking a Registered Nurse – Emergency Room for a 10-week day shift contract in Calais, ME. This role is responsible for providing safe, effective, patient-centered emergency care in a critical access hospital setting.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire
- Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to function independently in emergency situations
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts
- Holiday coverage required
Nice To Haves
- ER experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide direct emergency nursing care to patients and families
- Assess patient conditions and respond quickly in urgent situations
- Develop and support patient care plans with the healthcare team
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow hospital standards
- Communicate clearly with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff
- Protect patient confidentiality and support quality care delivery
