Responsible for providing professional nursing care for SIH patients. This includes assessing patients' mental, physical, and spiritual needs, establishing a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team. Additionally, the nurse will provide health teaching and counseling to promote optimal health levels, utilize clinical judgment and critical thinking to recognize and report changes in patient condition, and ensure complete, accurate, and timely documentation in the patient medical record. The position also involves providing input into the development of policies and procedures, supervising and delegating responsibilities to licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed assistant personnel, serving as a patient advocate, and completing required education, competencies, and licensure. The nurse may also be required to float to other SIH nursing units within their competency level.
