About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Ascension Owasso Medical Center. The position is full-time, with evening shifts, totaling 36 hours per week. The nurse will provide compassionate, direct nursing care adhering to clinical protocols, policies, and procedures, ensuring safety and quality. They will manage individualized patient care plans, monitor progress, and communicate changes in patient condition to the interdisciplinary team. The role involves executing physician and nursing orders for timely and effective medical interventions, coordinating care among various disciplines, and assessing and coordinating patient discharge planning needs for a seamless transition.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, direct nursing care that adheres meticulously to the established clinical protocols, policies, and procedures of our organization, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality.
  • Take ownership of individualized patient care plans, actively implementing and continuously monitoring progress to ensure treatment goals are being met and care is personalized.
  • Maintain essential vigilance by monitoring, accurately recording, and promptly communicating any pertinent changes in a patient’s condition to the interdisciplinary team.
  • Meticulously receive, document, and carry out all physician and nursing orders to guarantee the timely, safe, and effective delivery of all directed medical and therapeutic interventions.
  • Step into the vital role of the primary coordinator, serving as the central hub of communication to integrate all disciplines—from physicians to therapists—for a truly unified and well-coordinated patient care experience.
  • Lead the strategic assessment and coordination of patient's discharge planning needs, collaborating with the healthcare team to prepare and implement a seamless, safe, and supportive transition plan for the patient's next stage of recovery or care.
