About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) for a 16-week contract position in Utica, New York. The ED RN will provide emergency nursing care across a diverse patient population, including newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Candidates must have strong Emergency Department experience, including pediatric exposure, along with previous travel nursing experience. The unit manages high-acuity conditions including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. Floating is required. The Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide skilled, responsive, and patient-centered emergency nursing care across a high-acuity patient population.

Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) License Required at Time of Submission.
• Minimum 2 Years of Emergency Department Nursing Experience Required, Including Pediatric Experience.
• Previous Travel Nursing Experience Required.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC Certifications Required; TNCC Must Be Active and In Hand at Time of Submission.
• Epic EMR Experience Required.

• Charge Nurse Capability Highly Preferred and Must Be Willing to Float.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Assess, prioritize, and manage patients presenting with trauma, stroke, sepsis, cardiac emergencies, respiratory failure, and other acute conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitor patient response, and rapidly intervene when clinical conditions change.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams while supporting triage, acute care, trauma, observation, and other emergency care areas.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation using Epic and float to other assigned units or areas as required.
