About The Position

Requirements
- Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or Compact RN license eligible to practice in Virginia required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Room RN experience in an acute care setting preferred
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred or active enrollment in a BSN program
- Med-Surg RNs with strong clinical backgrounds may be considered for cross-training opportunities
Responsibilities
- Triage, assess, and provide care for patients across all age groups in the Emergency Department
- Deliver nursing care for a wide range of conditions, from minor injuries to critical, life-threatening emergencies
- Manage multiple patient assignments simultaneously while prioritizing care based on acuity
- Monitor patient status and respond promptly to clinical changes
- Maintain professionalism and composure in high-stress situations
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families to develop and coordinate care plans
- Support patient transfers, referrals, and discharge planning as appropriate
- Ensure patient safety and adherence to Emergency Department protocols at all times
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements
- Support quality outcomes through evidence-based nursing practice
