About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) plays a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. This involves delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The RN utilizes evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassion, and communication skills to lead efforts in creating the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum of care. The Atrium Health Anson Emergency Department is a 24/7 facility within a 15-bed community hospital serving a rural patient population. It is part of a centrally located campus integrating emergency services, inpatient care, and primary care for coordinated, personalized treatment. As a rural ED, it offers a close-knit, team-oriented environment where staff build meaningful relationships with patients and families, emphasizing compassionate, patient-centered care with a strong focus on treating patients like family.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing.
  • At least 6 months of RN experience (not for new graduates).
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of inpatient RN experience preferred.
