About The Position

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse will provide care to a diverse patient population including Newborn, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatric patients. Common diagnoses include Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, MI, Cardiac Arrest, and Resp Failure. The unit is equipped with specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun. Nurses are expected to provide care to all assigned patients, including SANE cases. The unit has 64 beds, including 2 Triage, 40 acute, 6 super track, 2 Trauma, 10 CDU, and 6 psych beds. Charge capability is highly preferred, and floating is required. Scrub color is Navy Blue.

Requirements

• Up to date resume that includes 2+ years of experience in ED.
• Some PEDS experience.
• Documented travel experience.
• Skills Checklist matching specialty.
• Drivers licenses with address that matches demographics.
• Current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC-TNCC IS REQUIRED TO BE IN HAND.
• NURSYS Report.
• Licenses verification with ACTIVE NY License & ALL RN licenses.
• RTO MUST be included at time of submission.
• EMR Exp Required: EPIC.

Nice To Haves

• Charge Capability: HIGHLY PREFERRED
• Some PEDS experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to assigned patients in the Emergency Department.
• Manage common patient diagnoses including Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, MI, Cardiac Arrest, and Resp Failure.
• Utilize specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun.
• Provide care to Newborn, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatric patients.
• Provide SANE care as assigned.
• Float to other areas of the ED as needed.
• Perform charge nurse duties if capable (highly preferred).
