About The Position

Sentara Emergency Department/Ambulatory Port Warwick is hiring a Registered Nurse. As a Registered Nurse with Sentara, you can excel in your career. This position's primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with family members, and being responsible for the overall care of your patients. In the Emergency Department/Ambulatory, we have a family atmosphere amongst our team. We meet in a fast-paced environment with high energy and positivity. We treat patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric and we utilize ED Techs to assist with supportive duties. We are hiring experienced and new graduate RNs. Kickstart your nursing career with Sentara’s dynamic 6-month Nurse Residency program, designed specifically for new graduate RNs with less than one year experience. At Sentara we believe in setting our nurses up for success from day one, which is why all new graduates are automatically enrolled-no extra paperwork or applications. Available across all 12 Sentara hospitals, this immersive program combines practical skills with hands-on training, professional development, and mentoring, empowering you to confidently transition into your nursing career.

Requirements

  • Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire
  • RN-Associate’s Degree, or RN-Bachelor’s Degree, or RN-Diploma, or RN-Master’s Degree
  • Experienced RNs
  • New graduate RNs
