About The Position

Watertown Regional Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse to join their Emergency Department team. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care in an acute-care hospital setting known for its high-quality care and national awards. The role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The hospital is located in southeastern Wisconsin and is part of the ScionHealth network.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Nursing Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)-Required
  • Valid licensure in the State of Wisconsin as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Six (6) months of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a direct patient care setting unless entering into the Nurse Residency Program
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing Preferred
  • ACLS within 6 months of hire
  • PALS within 6 months of hire
  • Handle with Care Certification within 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing patient care duties for the assigned unit or department under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator and/or Nursing Unit Director.
  • Plan, provide, and evaluate total nursing care in accordance with the established patient care philosophy.
  • Facilitate individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing.
  • Relate effectively with other shifts for continuity of care and maintain satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing units.
  • Participate in all phases of education.
  • Identify existing and potential problems and seek or implement appropriate solutions.
  • Perform plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care. May administer medication. Document patient care given.
  • Provide nursing care through planning, organizing, and facilitating the nursing function for assigned patients.
  • Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.
  • Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
