About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) at Texas Health Allen is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care. This fast-paced, high-volume department averages 70-90 patients per day with a diverse patient population. The role offers flexible scheduling, opportunities for educational and career growth, and encourages department engagement through staff meetings and a Strong Unit Based Council (UBC). Texas Health Allen is an 88-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital serving the community since 2000, specializing in various advanced medical services and holding multiple accreditations and certifications.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma in nursing required or Associate’s degree in nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • 1 year of experience as registered nurse required
  • 1-2 years of experience as an RN in an acute care ED setting strongly preferred
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually within 90 days required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course upon hire preferred
