Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Nights 7p-7a
About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team at Augusta Health. Our Emergency Department sees approximately 60,000 patients annually and is recognized as a Primary Stroke Center and an ACC Chest Pain Center, providing rapid intervention for critical conditions. The department has recently undergone expansion and renovation, incorporating cutting-edge technology and improved workflows to foster strong teamwork. This night shift position offers an opportunity for professional growth within a supportive environment. The RN is accountable for coordinating direct patient care, education, and serving as a leader of the patient care team, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care. Requirements
- Nursing Diploma and/or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Educational requirements per hospital certifications (Example: Stroke, Orthopedic/Spine)
- RN licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Current and valid Registered nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or from a state that is part of a Compact agreement with Virginia
- CPR
- ACLS prior to coming off orientation
- PALS within 3 months of orientation end

Responsibilities
- Coordination of direct patient care
- Patient education
- Serving as a leader of the patient care team
- Working closely with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high quality patient care
- Annual education and competencies as required per hospital certifications
- Maintaining HIPAA compliance with no breaches of confidentiality
- Utilizing Personal Protective Equipment when appropriate
- Using Safe Patient Handling devices to minimize risk of injury
- Maintaining a calm and safe approach within the work environment towards those that display violent or aggressive behavior
- Communicating with patients and other staff verbally, auditorily, and in written form using Augusta Health documentation
