About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED) is responsible for delivering high quality patient care through nursing education, nursing research, and innovations in nursing practice. This role involves responding to patient priorities regarding safety, physical, psychological, and social needs, while honoring their worth through unconditional acceptance and understanding their frame of reference. The RN will engage family and caregivers in healthcare situations, utilize professional behaviors to help patients and families confront decisions, and practice attentive reassurance by listening and being reliable, available, and attentive. Additionally, the RN will create a healing environment that provides privacy, safety, confidentiality, and tranquility, fostering a supportive, team environment with outstanding opportunities for growth.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma in nursing required or Associate’s degree in nursing required or Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • 1 year of experience as a registered nurse required
  • RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually within 90 days required
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 90 days required
  • TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 6 months required
  • NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program if floating to Mother Baby within 90 days required
  • A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience as an RN in an ED acute care setting strongly preferred
  • Completion of ED residency a plus
