Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department (ED)
About The Position
Sentara Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Emergency Department (ED) team at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. This is a full-time night position. The ED is a 41-bed Level III Trauma ED with a dedicated 6-bed psychiatric screening and treatment area. It is a stroke-certified ED that receives STEMI and psychiatric patients, treating approximately 150 patients daily with an in-house radiology suite for imaging. The department boasts a diverse nursing and ED Tech team. The RN is responsible for providing competent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional nursing standards encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess the clinical knowledge and skills required for specific clinical areas.
Requirements
- ADN required
- Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
- BLS
- RN Experienced in a hospital setting.
- RN Experience in the ED highly preferred.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or higher preferred.
- TNCC preferred
