Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department
About The Position
Sentara Independence - Emergency Department is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week on weekends (Friday-Sunday) from 10 AM to 10 PM. The Emergency Room at Sentara Independence offers 24/7 access to board-certified emergency physicians and quality nurses, with a focus on outstanding service and treating patients quickly and expertly. The facility features a new family-friendly waiting room, private patient care rooms with state-of-the-art cardiac monitoring, a minor care treatment area, and on-site X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT, and MRI Imaging services. Support is provided by local Emergency Medical Services and Sentara's regional air ambulance, Nightingale. Sentara Independence provides expert emergency care to residents of the Independence corridor in a safe and comfortable atmosphere.
Requirements
- ADN required
- Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
- BLS within 90 days of hire.
- RN experience in a hospital setting.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or higher preferred.
- Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire.
- ED experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the nursing process.
- Utilize the standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation.
- Adhere to the standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
